About Us

Wolverhampton Women’s Luncheon Club

The Club was started in 1932 for women to enjoy lunch and have interesting talks on a wide variety of subjects. In the early years Amy Johnson (the first woman to fly across the Atlantic) was one of the speakers and in more recent years speakers have included - among many others - Bernard Ingham, David Battie, Ann Widdecombe, Edwina Currie, Eric Knowles, Bill Tidy and Calendar Girl Tricia Stewart.

Members meet 9 times a year, usually on the last Wednesday of the month, at Linden House, Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton. There is an annual subscription for membership which is currently £30. The cost of lunch is £18 per person (and £19 for non members/guests) and is served at 12.45, although members usually arrive before that time for a chat and a drink. Meetings generally end by 3.30pm.

Any dietary requirements can be accommodated if notified to the Luncheon Secretary by the Friday before the meeting.

Prospective new members are very welcome to undertake a “taster” meeting without payment of the subscription – unfortunately, the lunch must be paid for!
